Decatting a Diesel 23 Apr 12

You CAN remove the catalytic converter on your Diesel Car without having a problem with the MOT.  Having taken advice from VOSA, who control MOT testing in the UK, we are 100% confident that removing the CAT on a Diesel won't cause an issue.  The confusion has arisen due to the regulations changing in January 2012 for cars which qualify for a full gas emissions test where 'if a cat was fitted as standard, it must be there for the MOT'.  As Diesel cars don't qualify for a full gas emissions test, the regulation doesn't apply.  The same is true for DPFs which you can also remove (they're not even mentioned in the manual)

Longlife Exhausts now available in Worcester 23 Nov 11

Well respected exhaust centre A44 Exhausts in Worcester has just been appointed as the latest Longlife Stainless Steel Exhaust centre.  A44 Exhausts has been in the business for over 40 years so we are very pleased that they will now be promoting our brand when building stainless exhausts.  They are also one of the few custom build centres in the country to have both a pressure and a mandrel bender so no matter what your requirements, they will be able to meet them.

Longlife launches new look 20 May 11

Longlife are today very proud to launch our new look branding across all of our marketing.  Having been working closely for a number of months with Automotive branding experts  WDA Automotive our new look aims to differentiate us from all other main stream exhaust brands in the market.

Our custom build approach enables us to control the quality of every individual exhaust system that we build is the foundation of our 'exhausts built to last'.

The military inspiration hints at both the Aerospace industry processes and materials employed by Longlife, but also the shared approach of creating products which are designed to 'get the job done' and critically are dependable in extreme conditions.  The 'Bring the Drive Alive' positioning underlines the promise of a product designed to be experienced rather than just looked at.  We wanted the visual identity to be strong, bold, confidence inspiring, and to convey a premium feel.

Longlife Bristol moves to larger premises 24 Mar 11

The longest standing Longlife Franchises has just anounced it is moving to a new premises!  Having been in a less than ideal location for a number of years, depot owner, Tim, decided it was time to relocate to Thornbury, just outside of Bristol city.

Demand for the high quality work prodced by the Bristol franchise has been on the increase and in order to provide a more complete service it was decided that a more suitable building was required.  The new premises can cater for larger vehicles that the old depot could not due to access problems.  There is a comfortable waiting room for people who wish to stay with their vehicles or alternatively there is a courtesy car available by prior arrangement.

Longlife are very excited to announce that we have another Franchise just opened in Southend, Essex.

Gastech Vehicle Technologies have been converting vehicles to run on LPG gas since 1998 and are now offering Longlife Stainless Steel Exhausts.  Owner Keith Woods and son, Jamie take great pride in their work and naturally wanted to offer the best in custom build when they decided to diversify into exhausts so approached Longlife.

Business owner and chief fabricator, Chris Yates, has over 25 years of engineering experience and has previously worked on World Land Speed record cars.

New Longlife Franchise in South London 25 Aug 10

Longlife is very excited to anounce that it has now appointed a new exhaust Franchise in Forest Hill, South London.  Exhaust Express Ltd have many years experience in fitting exhausts and dealing with all other car mechanical work and have now decided to expand their range of services to include custom built Longlife Stainless Steel Exhausts.

As well as offering a full range of mechanical services and MOTs, Exhaust Express are now able to build a Stainless Steel Exhaust for any vehicle.  With their large premises and heavy duty ramps, they will also be able to cater for extra large vehicles such as motor homes and tractors which will be great news for those people who had previously not been able to find anyone to do this work.

Longlife/Topgear Open Day a great success 13 Jul 10

The rain stayed away and the people came in droves... this was the concensus having had our first Open Day in Bridport.  Notable cars present were the Honda Racing Team Dynamics British Touring Car of Matt Neal (sadly Matt was busy enjoying himself at the British Grand Prix so understandably not able to visit us), Mathew Bedford's amazingly low Fiat Punto and the unbelievable sounding Porsche Carrera GT.  To see the pictures have a look at our facebook page www.facebook.com/longlife.exhausts

Thank you to everybody who attended, both suppliers and customers and well done to the winners of the raffle prizes who walked away with around £2500 of prizes.  We're now looking forward to next year being even bigger and better.

Longlife/Topgear Head Office open day 17 Jun 10

Make a note in your diary - Longlife's parent company Topgear is having an open day to celebrate our moving in to our new building.  Although we've been here now since February, it was way too cold and wet back then to get you here!

Saturday 10th July is the day you need to make a note of and 10am is the time.  We'll have food, music, loads of cars to look at, competitions to win MAJOR prizes and also a leading British Touring car team in attendance.  Our professional team will be able to advise you on all of our products - you'll be able to catch a bargin and maybe even win one of our great prizes.
